Port City Colombo offers visas for residential, business, investment, and employment purposes through the Colombo Port City Economic Commission's preferential green channel. Depending on the type of visa and eligibility criteria, applicants are also eligible for supplementary benefits, including visas for spouses and children and work permits for spouses.

Applicants can arrive in Sri Lanka using a Landing Endorsement issued by the Department of Immigration and Emigration and obtain the Resident Visa within 30 days from the date of arrival.
The applicants need to submit a Police Report from the country of their last residence or home country as mentioned in the passport.
The applicants have to provide a health care plan obtained from a recognised private hospital in Sri Lanka and a report screened for Tuberculosis, Malaria, AIDS, and Filariasis when submitting the visa application. The health care plan is expected to cover emergency care, primary outpatient care, and treatment for any diseases identified during the health assessment.
If the applicant intends to apply for a Port City Colombo Resident Visa for a spouse or/and dependent, they need to submit certified copies of the marriage certificate and birth certificates of the children. If these certificates are in a language other than English, they have to be translated into English and certified by the appropriate authority.
